Cloud City Farm Assistant

Cloud City Farm and Community Garden is a sustainable, nonprofit farm located at 10,152 feet above sea level in Leadville, CO. As part of the Cloud City Farm Team, this position will help support all aspects of Cloud City Farm. The Farm Assistant is intended to be a learning opportunity for individuals interested in farming, food justice and environmental issues as related to the food systems and farming.

  • Classification: Part-time, Hourly. 

  • Reports to: Farm Director & Farm Manager 

  • Eligibility: Must be 18 years of age or older. If you’re 15-18 years old, check out the Growing Stewards internship listed below.

  • Position Dates: May-October 2026 (flexible, see note below) 

  • Schedule: ~20-25 hours/ week (flexible, see note below) 

  • Hourly Rate: $23/hour, +$1/hour for bilingual proficiency in Spanish + English

The schedule for this position is very flexible — we can accommodate a variety of schedules/availability but generally this position is funded for ~375 hours worked across a maximum of 6 months.


Zero Waste Co-Coordinator

C4 is seeking a Zero Waste Co-Coordinator to help lead waste diversion efforts at Leadville’s largest summer events, taking on a key role in managing volunteers, overseeing operations, and ensuring effective, high-impact zero waste systems. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and is excited to drive meaningful, community-scale sustainability efforts.

  • Classification: Part-time, Hourly

  • Reports to: Sustainability Program Manager

  • Eligibility: Must be 18 years of age or older. If you’re 15-18 years old, check out the Zero Waste internship listed below.

  • Position Dates: Five event weekends

    • Marathon: Friday, June 26 & Saturday, June 27th (2 days)

    • Silver Rush 50: Friday, July 10 – Sunday, July 12 (3 days)

    • Boom Days: Friday, August 7 - Sunday, August 9 (3 Days)

    • Leadville 100 MTB: Thursday, August 13 – Sunday, August 16 (4 days)

    • Leadville 100 Run: Friday, August 21 – Sunday, August 23 (3 days)

  • Commitment: 86-100 total hours

  • Hourly Rate: $35/hour

  • Application Deadline: April 5, 2026


Zero Waste Event Staff

Join us in helping make Leadville’s biggest summer events more sustainable! In this hands-on, high-energy role, you’ll manage waste stations, divert compost and recyclables from the landfill, and engage with the community—all while working a flexible, choose-your-own schedule and enjoying iconic community events.

  • Eligibility: Must be 16 years or older by June 26th, 2026. Reliable transportation is required.

  • Position Dates: Shifts are available during the following event weekends:

    • Marathon: Friday, June 26 & Saturday, June 27th

    • Silver Rush 50: Friday, July 10 – Sunday, July 12

    • Boom Days: Friday, August 7 - Sunday, August 9

    • Leadville 100 MTB: Thursday, August 13 – Sunday, August 16

    • Leadville 100 Run: Friday, August 21 – Sunday, August 23

  • Time Commitment: Up to you! Choose one shift or many. Last year’s staff worked anywhere from 2 hours to 38 hours each.

  • Hourly Rate: $22/hour

  • Application Deadline: Ongoing but applications received by April 19, 2026 will have priority


Growing Stewards Intern

C4’s Growing Stewards Internship Program at Cloud City Farm is a paid opportunity for two young people ages 15-18 to explore farming and local food production, learn about regional ecology and conservation, and engage in a passion project that positively impacts their community.

  • Eligibility: Must be 15-18 years old at the start of the internship.

  • Position Dates: June 23 - August 7, 2026 

  • Schedule: ~18 hours/week

  • Hourly Rate: $18/hour + $200 bonus for successful completion of summer season (total of ~$2,500 for 7 weeks)

YOUTH INTERNSHIPS

Zero Waste Intern

This experiential learning internship provides pathways to leadership and paid work experience for Lake County youth. Interns support zero waste efforts at events such as the Leadville Race Series and Boom Days throughout the summer. Interns help manage the waste stream at events and provide zero waste education and outreach for the community.

  • Eligibility: Interns should be between the ages of 15–23. A valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation are required.

  • Position Dates: Tuesday June 23 - Friday August 29, 2026 

  • Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week. Interns must be able to commit to working Friday/Saturday/Sunday of event weekends. Additional/optional hours will be added during the week.

  • Hourly Rate: $18/hour

  • Application Deadline: April 19, 2026
